Notes:

  1. Digitised in belfast by the Centre for Data Digitisation and Analysis at Queen's University, Belfast.
  2. Data transcribed for the census years 1891, 1901, 1911, 1951, 1961 only. We have not digitised the 1921 or 1931 language tables within the General Tables volumes of 1921 and 1931 respectively.
  3. Looks like this table attempts to combine separate tables w_lang_1891, w_lang_1901, w_lang_1911, w_lang_1951, w_lang_1961. The table sources given need to be checked and the data compared to what is in the individual tables.

Checking:

  1. No checking has been done, other than visual check.
  2. No matching to the AUO gazetteer has been attempted. These files have been altered to run on Postgres, but otherwise are exactly the same as they were on the oracle server.
